Ways to Help Us, Help Ferrets
Thank you for taking the time to look at some of the ways you could help us, help ferrets. Each year we see dozens of ferrets pass through our facility, all referred by humane investigation issues. Many are not adoptable do to many factors; extended care issues, old age, behavioral problems, etc and wind up staying for longer periods of time. Others require intense rehabilitation in order to get well enough to find a loving home. We realize this is not a preferred scenario in humane settings as the cost factors greatly outweigh the end results, but then , how can we put a price on healing, and building trust of humans and in the end, regaining the capacity to bond and care for humans. In many cases those ferrets who arrive require permanent care in our hospice care centers where they are provided time, love & security until their health diminishes and they are called away.
All costs for running and maintaining the shelter to provide warm, safe homes, medical care and love for these gentle and playful animals comes out of our pockets, the love and support of friends, donations and educational programs and fundraisers. Ferret Wise Shelter is not subsidized by state or federal funds. As a non profit 501c3 organization, your donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
There are lots of ways you can help, either directly by adopting a fuzzy little friend or indirectly through your financial support and/or donations of products and services.
Please look through the links on the right, there are many options for helping the shelter continue to help ferrets in need. I'm sure there's something that will fit your heart, time or pocket book. Every little bit helps.
